The 25-year-old goalkeeper has impressed in the Championship despite Rotherham’s disappointing season.

With the Yorkshire club confirmed to be relegated, it is expected that there will be an exodus of a few players in the summer, with Steve Evans set to reshape the squad.

Johansson is one of the players expected to leave the New York Stadium in the upcoming transfer window.

Stoke are interested in getting their hands on the goalkeeper this summer as part of their plans.

The Potters are hoping to take advantage of a release clause contained in the goalkeeper’s Rotherham contract.

Stoke plan to make their bid as soon as they are assured of playing in the Championship in the 2024/2025 season.

The Potters are close to securing safety after beating Plymouth Argyle 3-0 on Saturday.

Johansson is free to leave the Millers if the clause, reportedly worth around £1million, comes into effect in the summer transfer window.
