Man charged with murder after woman in her 50s was found dead in luxury five-star hotel where England rugby team trains – The Sun

A man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead in a luxury five-star hotel.

The body of a victim, aged in her 50s, was discovered at the luxury Pennyhill Park Hotel in Bagshot, Surrey.

Surrey Police have now charged James Cartwright, 60, with murder during their investigation.

He was also accused of controlling and coercive behavior after the body was found a week ago.

The deceased woman has not yet been named and the post-mortem results have not yet been released.

A force spokesman said: “A 60-year-old man has been charged in connection with the ongoing murder investigation in Bagshot.

“James Cartwright, of West Street in Axminster, was charged with murder and controlling and coercive behavior after being arrested on Friday, April 19.

“He has been remanded in custody to appear at Guildford Magistrates Court on April 22.”

Senior investigating officer, Detective Inspector Debbie Birch, previously said: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this difficult time.

“The investigation is in its early stages and a specialist team of officers are working around the clock to monitor the investigations.”

The five-star hotel describes itself as “Surrey’s most luxurious spa and hotel retreat” and has 124 rooms and is set in 300 acres of parkland.

It also houses the RFU’s Center of Athletic Development and as an indoor training venue for the national team.
