DOUBLE: Deira Mile and Lerwick

Deira Mile can prepare for a big race down the line with victory in the Global QA ISO & BRC Consultants Restricted Novice Stakes at Windsor.

The Owen Burrows-trained Camelot colt is a nice prize for the 2000 Guineas and Derby and while those Classic entries may look a little fanciful, it wouldn’t be a surprise at all if he turned out to win a Pattern race.

In three runs for Charlie Johnston he showed a decent level of form and achieved a handicap score of 85.

He was sent to Burrows and made his debut for the yard in the Group One Futurity Trophy at Doncaster, where he vastly exceeded his odds of 50/1.

He finished a very creditable fourth behind Derby Fancy Ancient Wisdom, beaten by less than three lengths and unsurprisingly that form makes him stand out in this kind of company.

George Boughey’s Composite is scheduled to defy top weight in the free digital race card on raceday-ready.com Handicap.

Strangely enough he started life over hurdles, but since switching to the Flat he has won two out of three.

He carried a penalty to victory last time, beating two promising types, and he could be quite useful.

Hugo Palmer has started the season well, so Auric is interested in the Get The Inside Track With raceday-ready.com Handicap.

Fourth of eight on debut at 40/1, winning at Kempton a month later. A figure of 74 seems fair enough.

Ben Haslam’s Lightening Company can repeat its victory 12 months ago in the Riu Hotels And Resorts Handicap in Pontefract.

Last season he won first time out with a score of 82 and although he is 2lb higher this year he does have the benefit of a good run at Doncaster under his belt where he finished third.

Lerwick makes his first start of the season for Ed Bethell in division two of the Bowel Cancer Screening Program Save Lives Handicap

Last season he was the winner of the course and distances, but he performed creditably under similar figures and could well be stronger with another winter behind him.

The aforementioned Boughey could also be a good choice as Heartwarmer looked quite the winner on his debut last season and is the one to beat in the Constant Security Services Fillies Novice Stakes.

Onemorefortheroad gets the verdict in the Amazing Sri Lanka Handicap Chase at Kempton for Neil King.

He has been given some reprieve from the handicapper since winning comfortably at Doncaster three starts ago.

Willie Mullins is represented at Ffos Las, where he will team up with Rath Gaul Boy to reach the goal in the Download The Raceday Ready App Novices’ Hurdle.

He was an easy winner at Fairyhouse last time, but he had excuses when he retired at Leopardstown last time.
