On Sunday, April 21, 2024, at approximately 1:13 a.m., officers responded to a gentlemen’s club in the 2700 block of Majesty Drive to investigate reports of shots fired.

When they arrived, they found a 30-year-old man and a 40-year-old man lying in the roadway near the club’s parking lot with visible gunshot wounds. The 30-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The 40-year-old man was transported to an area hospital. He is expected to survive.

The suspected shooter remained at the scene and was arrested by officers.

After reviewing the evidence and speaking to witnesses, investigators believe the suspected shooter was at the club and was confronted by the 40-year-old, who had previously had conflicts with him. The two got into an argument outside the company. While they were arguing, it appears the 30-year-old, a friend of the 40-year-old, drove to the club and became involved in the altercation. A short time later shots were fired.

Officers found a firearm on the 40-year-old.

Detectives have not ruled out that the shooting occurred in self-defense. After consultation with the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office, the decision was made not to file criminal charges against the suspected shooter at this time. He was released and was not arrested.
