How many episodes can we expect?

If you didn’t hear the news a few days ago, a Fallout season 2 coming soon to Prime Video! This is hardly a surprise. Yet we are still happy with it! This is a show that still has so much potential, and the first season ended in a way that definitely leaves us wanting more.

Why don’t you take a moment now to discuss the number of episodes? If there’s one criticism of the first season, it’s that it went way too fast. After eight episodes, the story was over and we had to sit back and wait for what would be next.

We’d like to sit here and say right now that there’s a chance we’ll see a bigger order for season 2, but that’s doubtful. Prime Video dramas generally consist of about eight episodes, especially some of the big budget dramas with a ton of special effects. This is the same sequence we saw The boys received, and there is no reason to think we would get anything else here.

One of the biggest reasons we don’t get more episodes of these shows is simple: lead time. The visual effects on these types of shows are top notch, but it also means there is a long period between seasons. The more episodes you get, the longer the break. That’s one of the inevitabilities that comes with having a lot of ambition. Certainly, we don’t think so Fallout necessarily needs a ton of effects per episode to make it great, but its flashy nature is one of the reasons viewers watch it. We understand that.

For now, our advice is to simply prepare for an eight-episode order. If we get more, be prepared for a pleasant surprise when the dust settles.
