The young men stopped the truck at the Suvarna Soudha. They got into an argument with the driver and a high-decibel argument ensued. The victim was injured when a gang of about fifty youths beat him up. Police who learned of the violation rushed to the spot, rescued the driver and rushed him to the hospital.

Jagadish Shettar, former CM and BJP candidate from Belagavi visited the spot and interacted with the youth.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Rohan Jagadeesh visited the spot.

The truck was traveling from Maharashtra to Hubballi. There were about a dozen cattle in the vehicle, a police officer said. A case is registered.
