The bill provides appropriations of $60.8 billion, while defense spending is expected to reach $49.9 billion. US President Joe Biden pledged to sign the relief bill once it is approved by both houses of Congress. On Saturday, April 20, 311 members of the lower house of the US Congress voted in favor of the decision in question. According to U.S civil servants, arms deliveries will begin a week after the aid package comes into effect. The package will likely include ammunition for both air defense systems and artillery. In addition, the House of Representatives approved a bill on the possibility of confiscating the sovereign assets of the Russian Federation in favor of Ukraine and expanding sanctions against the aggressor country. In particular, the US President will be authorized to apply the confiscation procedure to state assets and then transfer them to special funds for further transfer to Ukraine. President Zelenskyy thanked Mike Johnson and the American people for the crucial and long-awaited support.
