SCHEFFLER DRILLS 5IRON ON THE 14TH TO THE GREEN

Scheffler cleared another tough hurdle with a fine shot on the par 3 14th with an effort from 189 yards to the right of the green.

DISAPPOINTING WEEK FOR RORY McILROY

McIlroy just signed for a final round 74, which is +3, bringing his total down to -7. McIlroy’s round included a double bogey at the last spot. It is not what the Northern Irishman will have wanted after entering the tournament in an attempt to rediscover his best form.

SCHEFFLER PLAYS THE 13TH FAIRWAY FROM THE TEE

Many mistakes were made by the pros who adapted to a longer, wet and humid course after the rain delay. But Scheffler continues to march towards the title after splitting the 13th fairway with a rescue wood off the tee on the par 4 13th before firing an approach from 90 yards to six feet for another birdie.

Play will resume after a weather break

Leader Scheffler has picked up where he left off before the rain and weather delay, with the American and world No. 1 returning to his tee shot on the 12th and hitting a wedge from 125 yards onto the green, 20 feet from the hole. He lands and stops immediately after the rain softens everything from where the leaders make par.

PGA TOUR STATE PLAY RESUMES AT 7:00 PM ET

Play will now resume at 7:00 PM ET. The organizers have announced which should give us at least an hour of golf action.

CLARK’S ROLLERCOASTER CONTINUES

Wyndham Clark, who recorded the second, has just scored his eighth birdie on the 17th, leaving him tied for second at -6 today and -15 overall after dropping four shots on the back nine.

RAIN ARRIVES IN SOUTH CAROLINA BUT SCHEFFLER STAYS WARM

Scheffler takes his par on the 10th and hits a 247-yard drive on the par 4 11th as the rain begins here. He’s being washed clean now, but that doesn’t stop Scheffler from hitting it 600 feet to 26 feet, from where he two-putts for his final par to leave him four shots ahead of the pack, including Morikawa.

SCHEFFLER -3 AT THE TURN AND REMAINS -19 TOTAL

Scheffler is in complete control this tournament and is on course for another victory after reaching the turn in -3 with pars at 6,7,8 and 9. He then found the 10th fairway with a 281-yard drive and remains making this the most difficult. of the games look remarkably simple with a tap in 4. What a talent. The only unconvincing aspect is Scheffler’s waistcoat!

RODGERS GO OUT FOR EAGLE TO BE THE CLOSEST ENTRANT

Patrick Rodgers has chipped in for Eagle on the par four and ninth to be the top contender for Scheffler.

SCHEFFLER JUST OUTSIDE THE FAIRWAY ON THE EIGHTH BUT IN GOOD CONDITION

Scheffler has taken a fairway wood off the tee on the eighth and will have 177 to the green on the par four. He misses on the right, but chips from close range and leaves a tap for par.

SCHEFFLER REMAINS UNSTOPPABLE

Scheffler’s lead is now four shots, at -19 overall and -3 through six holes today. He then hit the par 3 7th and chipped in from close range. Another excellent golf from the number 1 in the world, who makes his par.

CLARK GOES OUTSIDE BORDERS ON THE HUNT OF SCHEFFLER

US Open champion Clark has had a fantastic round at -8 after 11 holes, but in his attempt to chase Scheffler he has hit an aggressive shot out of the trees that bounces off course on the 12th as he notches a record. double bogey to slip -15.

SCHEFFLER RUNS 316 yards ON THE FIFTH

INCREDIBLE, WHAT A SHOT FROM SCHEFFLER TO EAGLE SECOND

That’s a majestic chip shot for an eagle three on leader Scheffler’s second. After his 2-iron cleared the green after throwing close to the hole, the world number 1 faced a hard chip and executed it quite brilliantly. What a stunning shot and a dagger to his rivals’ hopes.

LUDVIG ABERG MAKES A DISAPPOINTING START

Aberg is struggling to get going today in the final round and is +1 for three holes.

GREENS PLAY HARD AND FAST

The greens appear to have dried out as Scheffler has just gone through the back of the second as well. This time it was with a 2 iron from 262 yards, which threw at the pin and went through. Being a par 5, the world number 1 will be looking at a birdie here with a decent chipback.

CLARK CONTINUES HIS INCREDIBLE START

Wyndham Clark is now -6 through seven holes today – just one stroke behind Scheffler – and on course for par on the 8th.

SCHEFFLER GETS HIS LATEST TITLE BID TO STARTING

Scottie Scheffler has teed off and found the fairway on the first with a 281-yard shot on the shorts. He then surprisingly flies onto the green and will face an early test of his exceptional short game. But predictably he chipped in from close range and saved his par.

MORIKAWA ALSO HAS AN ATTEMPT ON SCHEFFLER

Collin Morikawa is on his way and is in first place in the regular season where he made his par. He is also a player who would like to get another chance at Scheffler, after missing out on the green jacket last weekend.

ABERG TAKES ON ITS LATEST CHALLENGE WITH SCHEFFLER

Fresh from his second place at the Masters in his first Major, Ludvig Aberg is once again battling Scottie Scheffler for the title. He’s -13, three strokes behind, and has just teed off the first and found the fairway with a 296-yard drive before putting a wedge on the green as he opened with a par.
