Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso West Wuogon Lydia Seyram Alhassan has offered free transportation to students of the University of Ghana returning home on holiday.

The students, consisting mainly of level one hundred students, traveled to areas such as Kumasi, Sunyani, Koforidua and Tamale. A total of five buses were deployed for this intervention.

According to the MP, this is her way of showing care for the students.

She notes that this gesture comes from an observation of how students are usually in great need of support at the end of the semester.

Before the students went home, the MP took time to say goodbye to them and distributed snacks for them.

She also urged students to use the period to rest and rejuvenate for the upcoming semester.

Speaking to journalists, Maa Lydia, as she is fondly called by the students and voters, debunked the claim that she is undertaking such activities to gain votes.
